Dedicated outside play

Pupils and staff at a Holbeach school welcomed special visitors when its new outdoors learning area officially opened.

Canon Paul Thompson, diocesan director of education, formally opened the space last Wednesday (May 6) at the William Stukeley Primary School.

The area has been carefully designed for the children in Reception year to enjoy while learning.

Executive headteacher Peter Bellamy said: “We are delighted to officially open our new EYFS outdoor area. This space is a fantastic addition to our provision and will make a significant difference to the daily experiences of our youngest pupils. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this project, and it was an honour to have Canon Paul join us for such a special occasion.”

He led a short dedication during the opening ceremony.

“The outdoor provisions aligns with the school’s Christian values of nurturing each child’s potential and fostering a love of learning from the very earliest stages,” added Mr Bellamy.
