Dawkins’ magical 65 break is the season’s highest so far

Pyramid’s Spencer Dawkins lit up Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night with a spectacular 65 break.

Dawkins (O56) knocked in the break on his way to a win over Consti E’s Sean Jeynes (O14).
He now holds the accolade of highest overall snooker break and highest break for Division One so far this season.
He got his team off to a great start, followed by a win for Dave Pearson (O14), but it wasn’t enough as Jason Green (O56), Richard Skellett (O21) and Carl Kelham (scr) lost the next three to give Consti a 4-2 win.
A 5-1 win for Holbeach D allowed them to jump into second place in the standings.
They beat Consti H thanks to wins from Paul Daw (O21), Wayne Fobelets (O21), Andy Spearman (R7) and Ian Woodberry (O7).
Adam Mayman (O21) was the solitary winner for Consti beating Denis Hix (R7) on the black.
The result has put them three points behind leaders Services C who fell 4-2 at home to Donington C.
Ben Wrigglesworth (O35), Neil Reynolds (O56) and Neil Favell (O7) got the points for Donington, while Shane Cummins (O14) and Nigel Cherry (O7) were the winners for Services.
Holbeach C moved up from sixth to third thanks to a 5-1 win away at Boundary A.
Dan Ashton (O7), Terry West (R7), Nick Edwards (R7) and Mark Gregory (O42) got the wins for Holbeach, while Elliott Cox (R7) took the single point for Boundary.
Services A’s match against Sutton Bridge was cancelled meaning they have fallen from second to fourth with a game in hand over the top three teams.
In a battle between clubmates Bourne SC A came out on top, beating Bourne SC B 4-2.
Gary Surridge (O7) won the first frame for the B team, before brothers Ian (R7) and Carl Gibson (O28) and Michael Byrne answered back for the A team, sealing the win.
Joey Scampion (R7) took the last frame for the B team, beating Ian Clare (scr) 51-39.
In Division Two, second-placed Holbeach A won 4-2 closing the gap on leaders Pyramid A, who lost 4-2.
Pyramid fell at home to mid-table Services B with Jason Rose (O21), Fred Cummins (R7) and Jeff Collins (R7) winning for Services.
Holbeach narrowed the gap to two points, winning at home against fourth-placed Consti B.
Sean Swinburn (O49), Derek Beba (R7) and Wayne Dent (O49) won the first three frames to seal the win for Holbeach, before Consti hit back through Martin Fear (O7) and John Keeton (O7).
Pyramid D moved up into third place with a 4-2 win away at Whittlesey C.
Donington’s A team took on the B team, winning 5-1.
Lowly Gosberton D, who are bottom of the table, came out the victors when they took on friendly foe Gosberton A.
Paul Gensiorskyj (O14), Keith Lungley (O7) and Deac Hempsall (scr) won for the D team, to give them their third win of the season.
Bryan Turnell (R7) and Martyn Stanley (R21) got Consti F off to a good start in their match against Pyramid B, beating Richard Clark (O7) and Phil Cooke (scr) respectively.
But Pyramid hit back, winning the final three frames courtesy of Dennis Pearson (scr), Roy Jackson (R14) and Darren Hibbins (scr).
Holbeach F are 11 points clear at the top of Division Three, following a 4-2 win over Whittlesey A.
David Lefley (R28), Don Monk (O14) and Alex Bourne (O21) won for Holbeach, who have only lost one match all season.
Second-placed Consti I didn’t have a match this week and therefore have a game in hand over Holbeach.
Consti A have moved up into third after beating Whittlesey A 4-2. Whittlesey have fallen to fifth place.
It was Sam Roberts (R21), Martyn Johnson (R21) and Wayne Wilding (O7) with the wins for Consti.
Gosberton C have boosted themselves up to fourth, thanks to a 5-1 win over clubmates Gosberton B, who are third from bottom.
Merv Pattinson (R21) got the B team started with a win over James Elliott (O7), before the C team replied thanks to Mark Payne (O7), Stuart Tamplin (R7), Stuart Henderson (scr) and Rob Lockett (R28).
Pyramid E have moved up a place after beating Consti J 4-2.
Consti started well, with wins from Trev Braybrooks (R14) and Les Andrew (scr), but three wins for Pyramid from Steven Thompson (R14), Adrian Sharpe (O28) and Jeremy Radford (R7) gave them the win.
A bottom-of-the-table clash between Donington D and Consti D saw Donington walk away with a 6-0 victory.
