In-form Dan Woods stole the show as Pinchbeck United Sunday continued their incredible early-season form in the Spalding Sunday League at the weekend.
Winger Woods, who bagged braces in each of Pinchbeck’s wins prior to Sunday’s home battle with Sutton Bridge Sunday, took his tally for the season to nine with a fantastic five-goal salvo as the champions cruised to a 7-3 success.
Gary Piper grabbed the other two goals for Tom Roberts’ all-conquering side, with Sam Lilley, Ben Partridge and Jason Raunch hitting back for Bridge.
Amazingly, Pinchbeck now have a goal difference of 32 after just three games.
Two points behind them are Punchbowl Panthers, who kept their unbeaten start going with a 4-2 home triumph over Murrow Bell.
Marcus Parry (2) and Sam Munton were among the goals for Panthers, with Chris Ward grabbing a double in reply for Murrow.
Swineshead Institute Sunday are third after edging out Spalding side Brennans Sports 5-4 in a real thriller.
Josh Faulkner (2) and Tyler Wright (2) got the goals for Brennans, who had to make the trip to Swineshead because the changing rooms at Monkshouse Lane were deemed unusable after vandalism.
Elsewhere, Punchbowl Tigers beat Mulberry 2-0 to register their first win of the campaign.
