Police are investigating after a 55-year-old  man was found dead in the bottom of a roadside ditch.

The man’s body was found in the ditch, which had about 18 inches of water in the bottom, with what is believed to be his bicycle. It was close to  Gedney Hill Golf Club on West Drove North, Gedney Hill.

He was certified dead at the scene.

The discovery of the body came at about 9:30pm yesterday  (Monday, June 9) and it is believed the man had been dead for a number of hours.
