Cup tribute in honour of Jack

The Spalding water polo community will come together on Saturday to celebrate the life of one of its most dedicated players, Jack Carpenter, with the inaugural Jack Carpenter Memorial Cup.

The event will take place at Bourne’s outdoor pool, starting at 6.30pm and promises to be a moving evening of sport, remembrance and community spirit. Jack lost a courageous battle with an inoperable brain tumour earlier this year at a far too young an age.

As one of the founding members of Spalding Water Polo’s junior team, he played a significant role in helping the club grow, inspiring teammates and leaving a lasting legacy that continues to be felt across both the junior and senior squads.

The Memorial Cup has been created not only to honour Jack’s commitment, passion and love of water polo, but also to bring together friends, family, teammates and supporters to celebrate the remarkable impact he had on everyone who knew him.

Throughout the evening, donations will be collected in aid of a cancer charity, with every contribution helping to support others affected by the disease.

Everyone is invited to attend, cheer on the teams and help celebrate the life of a young man whose enthusiasm, dedication and kindness made a lasting difference to his club and community.

Club spokesman Mark Le Sage aid: “By coming along, the local community can help ensure Jack’s legacy lives on, both in the sport he loved and through the lives that will benefit from the funds raised in his memory.”
