Crowland still eyeing cup double

Crowland Town kept on course for a fantastic cup double season.

They are into the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire Junior A Cup after beating Immingham Town 2-1 last Saturday. Jordan Kirchin and Ethan Allen grabbed the goals.
Meanwhile, Leverington Sports stand between Crowland and a place in the final of the GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League Senior Cup. The semi-final is at Snowden Field on Saturday (2pm).
Crowland’s Premier Division title challenge has to take a back seat but is still very much alive.
Sitting fourth in the table, they are 11 points behind league leaders Uppingham Town with five matches in hand.
Reigning champions Moulton Harrox have played only half of their 28 matches. They are mid-table in eighth place and it would take a massive effort to be involved in the league title shake-up.
However, Harrox have the pedigree and talent to string together the kind of run required to have a big say. They pipped Uppingham Town to the title by a single point last season.
Harrox’s diary is a little clearer after they crashed out of the Lincolnshire Junior A Cup at the quarter-final stage last weekend – beaten 5-0 at Crowle Colts.
l Holbeach United won 2-0 in the Thurlow Nunn League. AFC Sudbury Reserves had two players sent off as Ben Greenacre and Patrik Kacirek grabbed the Tigers’ goals.
