If you’re looking for a great family day out this weekend, then look no further than Crowland Show.
The show takes place on Saturday from 8.30am at the Snowden Field.
During the day there will be a variety of activities.
The Clown from Feet First will be walking on stilts, riding his unicycle and playing tricks and there will be a chance to join in the Circus Workshops and learn some circus skills.
In the Women’s Institute marquee you can enter an exhibit or just admire the crafts and skills on display.
If shopping’s more your thing, there will be a variety of stalls including cheese, jewellery, fashion and homeware.
For those of you who enjoy horsing around, events start at 8.30am in ring one and continue through the day in rings two to six, providing a spectacular display of horses of all sizes from miniature ponies to heavy horses.
The “Supreme of Show” competition is at 4.30pm, where the best of each category will compete to win the Mrs Whaley Memorial Trophy.
For something different take a look at the Sovereign Quarter Horses Western Horse Display Team.
Sovereign Horses breed, train and hold their own western events and are recognised for their skill and the calibre of both their horses and display team internationally, particularly in America.
For pooch lovers there is a dog show being organised by The Dog House Academy from Thorndyke, who are specialists in dog training.
This year there will be the usual pedigree classes, as well as classes aimed at non-pedigree dogs, but as part of the fun section there will be a competition to see which dog has the best skill and finesse in the art of sausage catching!
For the more mechanically minded there is a grand display of vintage vehicles, including farm machinery and cars.
Vehicles will parade around the ring and a history of each vehicle will be given.
Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for under 12s and OAPs and £10 for a family of two adults and under 12s.
Each admission will receive a programme with a lucky number, sponsored by City & County Estate Agents.
A prize draw for the winning number will take place at 3.30pm and the winner will receive £50 worth of Marks and Spencer vouchers.
