Crowland is place to be this weekend

Competitions, crafts, horses, dogs – Crowland Show really does have something for everyone this Saturday.
Being held at Snowden Field, the fun starts at 8.30am and the fun gets under way straightaway.
The horse show kicks off bright and early in the main ring and continues throughout the day, providing a spectacular display of horses of all sizes from miniature ponies to heavy horses.
The culmination of these events takes place in the form of the “Supreme of Show” competition.
For non-horsey visitors, the show also boasts a host of games, rides and activities as well as undercover craft fair stalls and handmade foodstuffs.
You can treat yourself from a range including cheese, jewellery, fashions and homewares.
A display of the entries in a range of categories including craftwork, cookery, flower arranging and artwork will also be on display in the Women’s Institute marquee – and there’s still time to show off your skills as entries do not have to be in until the day of the show.
Judging starts at 11am.
The dog show also has something for every pet pooch to have a go at – you just need to decide if you would like to enter your best friend into either serious classes of Best Pedigree or Best Junior Handler for example, or go for something a bit more fun like Best Biscuit Catcher, Waggiest Tail or even Dog Most Like Its Owner.
Admission to Crowland Show is £5 for adults, £3 for children under 16, £10 for families of two adults and two children under 12 and £4 for over 60s.
Each admission will receive a programme with a lucky number offering the chance to win £50 in Marks and Spencer vouchers.
Profits from the show go to local charities.
