Crowland home damaged after sofa caught fire

A Crowland home has suffered severe smoke damage after a sofa was accidentally set alight last night.

Fire crews were called to a property on Horseshoe Court at 6.35pm last night (Sunday, March 28).

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say the property suffered “severe” smoke damage throughout as a result of the blaze started by “carelessly discarded smoking materials”.

The crews from Crowland, Spalding and Deeping extinguished the blaze using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and “positive pressure” a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
