Kirton racer Aaron Clarke has returned home to begin his recovery from the horrendous accident he was involved in at Knockhill.

Clarke was hurt in a crash during morning warm up in preparation for the National Superstock 600 race at the Scottish circuit the weekend before last.

He was diagnosed with a badly broken left arm – three breaks in his upper arm – and also some damage to his hand when his glove came off. He had an operation the day after the crash, where surgeons wired and plated the arm.

Clarke said: “I can’t remember anything about the crash which is perhaps a good thing. I am feeling a lot better now and would like to convey my thanks to the marshals and medics at Knockhill for their prompt action and everyone at the hospital where they looked after me so well.”

Clarke hopes to return at Oulton Park on August 10.
