Spalding 3rd 182
Burgh 124

Spalding 3rd team got a much-needed first win of the season by seeing off Burgh.

Spalding lost both openers early on but then moved the score on very fast, thanks to David Thomas (72) and Paddy Harrington (20).
Both played aggressively and struck the ball cleanly, moving Spalding’s total past 100 after only 16 overs.

However, Burgh recovered with an impressive spell from Sharp who took three wickets. After good innings from Joe Lyon (25) and Jonny Manton (13), Spalding were bowled out for 182.

Spalding’s opening bowlers Joe Lyon and Rick Dale took an early wicket each but Burgh soon hit back.
Spalding regained control through an excellent spell from Matt Sharpe, who took two wickets including the crucial dismissal of Sharp, falling to a good catch by wicketkeeper Thomas.

Spinner Richard Gilbert (6-25 off eight overs) dismissed the other main runscorer, and Burgh were soon all out for 124.
