Crews stop fire from setting house alight

Fire crews stopped a blaze from further damaging a Spalding home last night (Thursday).

Three crews were called to Lilburn Drive shortly before 8pm after a bonfire got out of control.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say two garden sheds, a row of conifers and the guttering of one of the homes was damaged by the fire put out by two Spalding crews and one from Donington.

A spokesman said: “Crews used four hose reels, breathing apparatus and drags to extinguish the fire. The fire was caused by a bonfire that had spread to the conifer trees.”
