Creative family show off their talents at new Spalding art exhibition

A talented family of potters and painters will display their crafts at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum this October.

Anthony Edwards and his wife Di this year celebrate 45 years of master craftsmanship.

The couple run Tydd Pottery at Pode Hole and their Step By Step exhibition is at Aysoughfee Hall Museum throughout October.

Anthony’s stepson Mike and Mike’s partner Emma will display their paintings at the exibition.

“Mike produces wonderful landscapes and his partner Emma looks to natural history for inspiration,” says Anthony.

Anthony and Di have exhibited their pots nationwide for more than 20 years and are always developing their skillsets.

“The blue and white pots are based on maiolica techniques and we have been producing an ever expanding range over the past 20 years,” he said.

Anthony explained what the pair have been working on lately.

“The black pots have been developed in the last two years and influenced by the techniques and quality of the Pueblo Indians of New Mexico who produce some of the finest handmade pottery in the world. For us this is an exciting new challenge which should keep Di & I out of mischief for some time.”

The exhibition begins on Sunday, October 1, and runs throughout October.
