COVID-19 causes Spalding RFC’s final game of 2021 to be postponed

Spalding RFC’s scheduled home game against Daventry in Midlands Three East (South) on Saturday was postponed due to a Covid-19 concern.

With the game rearranged for January 22, that means Town’s 2021 fixtures are now over.

They end the year in tenth place in the 12-team division, although are level on points with rock-bottom Queens and 11th-placed Northampton Men’s Own.

The Elephants, who have won two of their ten games so far, do have a game in hand on Queens, however.

Spalding’s first game of 2022 is scheduled to be at Huntingdon and District on January 8 (2pm).

Saturday’s results (Midlands Three East South): Queens 22 Huntingdon & District 45; Rushden & Higham 25 Dunstablians 19.

Spalding RFC 2022 fixtures in Midlands Three East (South): January: 8 – Huntingdon & District (a); 15 – Luton (h); 22 – Daventry (h); 29 – Melton Mowbray (a). February: 12 – Northampton Men’s Own (h); 19 – Queens (a). March: 5 – Rushden & Higham (h); 12 – Stockwood Park (a); 26 – Stewarts & Lloyds (a).
