Couple killed in holiday car crash

Tributes have been paid to a Weston couple who have died in a car crash while on holiday.

Gordon and Helen Mills were travelling in the Loire Valley in France to the Circuit des Ramparts, a race of historic cars, when the accident happened on September 16.
Classic cars were one of 68-year-old Gordon’s passions alongside yachting.
He and Helen were frequent visitors to France but also loved travelling through out the world.
Their Weston home had a large garden which included space for their small herd of red deer and outdoor pizza oven where they entertained friends and family.
Gordon leaves a son and daughter, Sophia and Patrick, and was a proud Opa to his granddaughter Lyra.
Helen leaves a son, also named Patrick, daughter Charlotte and grandchildren Nelly and Lennox.
After playing squash and table tennis both Gordon and Helen became firm members of Pinchbeck Croquet Club. Members paid tribute to both at their recent competition.
Despite starting in the sport only six years ago, Gordon won a host of titles including two London Hulingham Club titles and the doubles Greek Open Association Croquet champion in 2021 and 2023 alongside Ken Knock.
A spokesman for Pinchbeck said: “They will be much missed.”
