Consti H go top thanks to Holdershaw’s finale

Jon Holdershaw (r14) held his nerve to earn Consti H the 4-2 win that took them to the top of the Spalding & District Snooker League Division One table.

A seesaw encounter against Holbeach C saw the visitors take the lead through Nick Edwards (r14), only for Seb Grimston (o28) to level thanks to a 25 clearance in a black-ball game. Terry West (r7) restored Holbeach’s advantage with another black-ball win, only for Doug Garfoot (o21) to level matters. It was left to Holdershaw to put the hosts ahead for the first time with a match-winning 83-49 defeat of Mark Gregory (o28).
Former leaders Services C crashed 5-1 at home to Holbeach B, despite Geoff Hemsil (r21) winning the first frame. It was one-way traffic after that with wins for Neil Harvey (o21), Charlie Millane (r28), Pete Mullane (o28) and Barry Haynes (o7).
Pyramid D celebrated a first win of the season but remain bottom of the table, despite a 4-2 victory at Bourne SC. Reegan Holmes (o21) and Josh Agger (o21) put them 2-0 ahead, only for Pete Hodgson-Kelly (o28) and Carl Gibson (o28) to pull things level. It was left to Peter Jackson (r7) to win the decided frame.
The Consti E versus Consti G derby went in favour of the ‘hosts’ with wins from James Kingston (o21), Jack Chilvers (o21) and Ben Peppercorn (o7). Joe Garland (o7) and Darren Woodbury (o35) were the G team victors. Elsewhere, Seb Grimston (o28) hit a 25 clearance in a black ball win for Consti H in their 4-2 success against Holbeach C, while Paul Dew (o28) struck two 23 breaks but was unable to help Holbeach D avoid a 4-2 defeat to Services A.
The Pyramid prize went to the C team, who overcame their A team stablemates 5-1 thanks to victories from Richard Skellett (o14), Jason Green (o56), Dave Pearson (o7) and George Neary-Phillips (o21).
Services B maintained their 100 per cent start to the Division Two season with a 4-2 win at Holbeach F.
However, Boundary A narrowed the gap at the top to a single point thanks to a 5-1 victory at Pyramid E. Pete King (r7) and Elliot Cox (r14) put them two to the good, only for Jeremy Radford (r7) to pull one back. That was the only home success, however, with Tim Burrows (r14) and Dan Smith (o14) completing matters.
Biggest winners of the day were Services D, who whitewashed Consti I with Joely Shears (r14), Paul Spicer (o14), Ian Smith (scr), Richard Neal (r21) and Russ Morse (scr) all recording successes, albeit three of them in black-ball games.
Donington A won four of their five games against Consti F to win 5-1. John George (o7), Nigel Brazier (o21), Kevin Hawes (o7) and Tony Scully (o35) outscored their opponents with Robert Adams (o7) notching the sole away success.

Donington B’s lead at the top of Division Three was cut by a point, despite a 5-1 victory at Consti J where Pete Burrell (scr), Phil Burrell (scr), Paul Stewart (r7) and Shaun Pickering (r14) were successful. Stew Davies (o14) was the sole home victor.
Gosberton D trail the leaders by three points after their 6-0 hammering of Consti A, which brought wins for James Parrott (r7), Neil Simmons (scr), Keith Langley (o14), Lynn Simmons (r21) and Paolo Gensiorskys (scr).
Gosberton B chalked up their first win of the campaign, romping home 5-1 at Boundary B thanks to wins from Nigel Goodwin (r21), Dan Hanger (scr), Merv Pattison (r21) and Warren Driver (r14).
