Consti extend their lead

Consti have extended their lead at the top of the Spalding and District Billiards league, with a 7-0 win against Broadway.

They now have an eight-point lead over second placed Donington B.

Mick Johnson (o60) got the ball rolling for Consti as he had a big win against Gary Norman (o280) 200-56, Johnson having breaks of 34,32 and 23. Norman did hit the highest break of their match with a 52 and other breaks of 23, 22 and 20.

Alan Hansard (r50) notched up his third win of the season, defeating Andy Wheatley (scr) 200-186, and Stewart Davies (r30) also remains unbeaten as he beat Paul Collicchio (scr).

Due to two games being cancelled this week, Donington B have moved in to second place, despite a 5-2 loss at Gosberton A.

Clash of the captains saw Neil Reynolds (o70) have a good game against Marcus Pell (o50) of Gosberton, Reynolds winning 200-136. He hit the highest break of the week with a 56 as well as 40, 37 and 22.

Shane White (o40) levelled the match for Gosberton as he won by 16 points against Neil Burton (r70). Des Forbes (r60) played his best game of the season hitting breaks of 24, 23 and 21 to give Gosberton the victory as he overcame Mick Pearl (r20).

The only other fixture was a local derby between Pyramid A and Pyramid B, the B team winning 5-2.

Wins for Maurice Phillipson (r90) and Darrell Read (r40) saw the B team take the points against John Clapton (r110) and John Twell (r40) respectively. Neil McLean (r100) took two points for the A team against Phil Cooke (r100), 200-180.

Last week Gosberton A and Services played a day late, and Gosberton managed a 4-3 win.
Vince Fitter (scr) got Services off to a flying start as he was victor over Marcus Pell (o60). Fitter hitting breaks of 42 and 36.

Gosberton’s Shane White (o30) pulled them level with a 16-point win over Chris Dunmore (scr), White having breaks of 31,24 and 20.

A close game saw Des Forbes (r70) edge home 200-193 against Nigel Cherry (200-193) to give Gosberton the win.

The games between Services v Donington and Holbeach A v Holbeach B were cancelled this week.
