Consecutive wins keep Knights in hunt

A third league win on the bounce sees Pinchbeck United staying within reach of the play-off places.

They earned a 2-0 win in Ipswich against Whitton United to move up one place in the standings, eight points off the top five but with up to three games in hand on the teams above them. Luke Cullen’s bullet header put the Knights ahead inside five minutes and great individual work from Joshua Panton set up Patrick Kacirek for the second just before half-time.
Pinchbeck returned to the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Tuesday to take on Eaton Socon in the opening round of the Hinchingbrooke Cup
The Spartan South Midlands League Division One side had ended their hosts’ hopes in the last two seasons and made it three with a 5-1 win.
JJ Ward gave the hosts a second-minute lead but Socon hit back to lead 3-1 at half-time and struck twice more in the second half.
