Concerns over virus impact

One of the many people in South Holland particularly vulnerable to Covid-19 has urged the community to be mindful to others, especially when it comes to panic buying.

James Wilson-White (45), of Cowbit, has a weakened immune system due to his Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CPRS).

With children aged five and nine, James says he’ll find it difficult to self-isolate and is particularly concerned about his mum.

He said: “It’s quite concerning particularly with my mum and trying to keep my children going and getting them used to washing their hands so much.

“Our little one’s autistic so but we have to carry on as parents and I still have to do the school runs.

“If I catch a cold then it doubles up as pneumonia, so I hate to think what anything like coronavirus might be like for me.

“I don’t understand why people would queue up for sanitiser when there’s others that need it.”

James (pictured above) has long been raising awareness of the deliberating condition Complex Regional Pain Syndrome that he was diagnosed with largely through his love of motorsport. and the organisation CRPS Awareness Racing 4 a Cure.

He’s persuaded a number of high profile racers to display his logo on the side of their vehicles.

“I was due to do a few media days this week, including the British Touring Car event, but so many things are being cancelled,” he said. “I’ve always had good support.

“(F4 driver and British two time champion karter) Abbi Pulling is set to have my logo on her car for the season.

“I’ve also had fantastic sponsoring from the Spalding Round Table and a website designed by local councillor Jack McLean’s Drive-By website company.

“Every little helps.”
