Community room opens at store

A brand new room that community groups can use for free is among the new features for a redeveloped supermarket.

Morrisons in Pinchbeck has had a refurbishment and they’ve set aside one small room with a fitted kitchen that can be booked out by groups of 16 or under.

Among those who already use the room are the local University of the Third Age, Lincolnshire County Council and craft group Kit Crafts which meets at 1.30pm on some Thursdays.

The room and the new look supermarket were officially opened amid a fun day of activities on Thursday, October 31.

Spalding Classic Car Club members brought vehicles for shoppers to see and there was entertainment throughout the day, including from the Boston Jive Club.

There was also help packing bags from a Stormtrooper and Ewok aka Charlie and Craig Martin who were there raising funds for the charity Little Miracles.

Gail Ridley, the Community Champion at the Pinchbeck Morrisons, said: “It was an excellent day. We’re delighted to open the new community room and already had lots of response to groups looking to use it.”
