Car hit railway crossing barrier adding to congestion in parts of Spalding this morning

A road traffic collision near the Woolram Wygate and Park Road railway crossing is adding to disruption on the roads this morning. (Thursday, July 18)

A car crashed into the barriers shortly after 8am this morning.

It’s adding to the increased traffic seen along the Pinchbeck Road and Spalding Road seen all this week due to the closure of the entrance road to the Wardentree Lane industrial estate from the A16.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “. The level crossing has been damaged on Wygate Road. No injuries and Network Rail are working to repair the barrier so there will be delays in the area while that work is ongoing.”
