Club’s show is back on track

Model railway enthusiasts will be steaming back into town this weekend.

The Spalding Model Railway Exhibition returns to Springfields Events Centre this Saturday and Sunday.

People from all over the UK will be flocking to the event which will include 33 layouts, four demonstrations and 33 traders.

It’s been put on by the Spalding Model Railway Club for more than 25-years with around 4,000 set to attend this year’s event.

A club spokesman said: “This year’s exhibition will feature over 30 different layouts built by individuals or groups located all over the country.

“All of the models have taken many hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to create and are based on many different eras from steam to diesel and electric. Many are based on a variety of real locations including England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic and America.

“Demonstrations will show how buildings and rolling stock can be constructed and the process of achieving realistic weathering.

“Some of the best model railway retailers and parts suppliers will be there.”

The show will be open 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am-4.30pm on Sunday.
