Classical concert not to miss

South Holland Singers are presenting a feast of choral music in All Saints Church, Holbeach, on Saturday, May 14 and will be accompanied by The Lincolnshire Chamber Orchestra.

This is an opportunity to attend a concert of classical music involving a total of some 100 singers and musicians which is rarely available in south Lincolnshire.

The main work of the concert is Brahms’ A German Requiem with the sublime anthem How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings as one of the movements. This forms the second part of the concert – the opening section will begin with one of the Handel’s Coronation Anthems, The King Shall Rejoice, followed two pieces by Grieg for string orchestra, Hearts Wound and Last Spring and concluding with Mozart’s joyful and bravura piece for soprano, Exultate Jubilate, sung by young professional soloist, Carrie-Ann Williams who returns to sing with the choir for the third time.

Tickets cost £10 purchased before the concert (£12 at the door) and are available from The Flower Basket, Holbeach, and Bookmark, Spalding or by calling 01775 760757. Full time students are welcome at no charge.
