Classic car run

June 12 is a big day in the Spalding Classic Car Club’s calendar.

It is the day of their 19th annual classic car run, this year starting from Baytree Garden Centre in Weston.

With an entry list already topping 50 classic cars, organiser Barry Aistrup is confidently predicting an enjoyable day out around the rural lanes of Lincolnshire, Rutland and Northamptonshire.

Departing from Baytree around 10am, the 50-mile morning route takes in some of the undulating countryside on its way to the lunch halt at The Barnsdale Hall Hotel, overlooking Rutland Water.

A further 30-mile afternoon meander sees the cars arriving at Deene Park near Corby around 3pm.
