Clarke sends Holbeach United back to top of UCL

Jamie Clarke’s double fired Holbeach United back to the top of the UCL Premier Division as they saw off Eynesbury Rovers 2-1 on Saturday.

Striker Clarke netted the opener on 31 minutes at Carter’s Park, only for Joey Nichols to level just before the break.

That’s how it stayed until midway through the second period, when hitman Clarke struck again to seal a hard-fought three points.

With Yaxley going down 2-0 at Wisbech Town, the Tigers are now two points clear at the top with a game in hand.

Title rivals Huntingdon Town also saw their 100 per cent record ended by Sleaford Town after the pair drew 2-2.

Elsewhere, it was a fine day for South Holland sides in the Lincs Junior Cup.

Moulton Harrox battered Kirton Town 7-0, while Pinchbeck United also saw off Old Leake 2-0 at Knight Street.

But it was Spalding Town who were the biggest winners as they romped to a 9-0 victory at North Cotes.

Crowland Town are out though, having suffered a 7-1 defeat at Hykeham Town.

In the ChromaSport Peterborough Premier Division, it was a day to forget for Holbeach United Reserves as they were dubbed 7-0 at Netherton United.
