Church organisation gives historic Spalding shop new life

A historic shop in Spalding has been given a new lease of life by a church raising money for charities.

Christian United People’s Ministries has taken on the former Butters shop in New Road, which closed in August.
There are three elements to it – Quids Inn, selling charity shop items; Del Boy’s Emporium, dealing in trinkets, gold and silver; and RTL Antiques.

The organisation has held antiques fairs and car boot sales previously, but this is the first time it has had a shop base.

Rev Anthony Slack says money raised will help support the ministries’ support work, Sue Ryder and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

He thanked Spalding’s Cancer Research Shop and Booth’s Fruit and Veg Shop for donations of display furniture.

The shop is open Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and Sundays and Fridays 9am-4pm.
