Charity splashes out on bath

A Spalding charity has been able to splash out thanks to a host of generous donations.

The Meadows Day Centre, which brings people together who may otherwise be on their own, has a new working bath.

“Our bath is a specialist system with a chair lift to ensure safe entry and exit,” said manager Maisie Wenham. “Unfortunately, these specialist bits of equipment come with a hefty price tag.

“Being a charity, we knew we would need to do some serious fundraising and try to get some help.

“We would like to thank Spalding Golf Club (seniors’ section), especially Monty, Trevor and Tim, The Green Hall Foundation, The Clothworkers Foundation and the ‘Slip n Trip Show’ for their extremely generous donations and helpful fundraising.

“We have also done lots of in-house fundraising, so thank you to anyone who has been involved by playing bingo or even buying raffle tickets.

“Also a big thanks to Anthony Cronin, one of our trustees who helped source the grants mentioned.

“Without this help we would not have been able to purchase our new bath and continue offering a much needed and loved service.

“The bathing service is available to our clients and non-clients (depending on carer availability).

“Please give us a call on 01775 720305 if you would like any further information.”
