Charity match kicks-off for hospice

A charity football match is being held on Saturday to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice at Holbeach United.

The game will be in memory of Jonathon Britton who was a keen footballer and played for Holbeach United A Social Club and reserve teams until he was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2010 at the age of 34.

He died in September 2012 leaving a baby daughter Ava who was six months old at the time.

The match, between his old team and Holbeach veterans, kicks-off at 4pm and there will be live music afterwards.

There will also be a raffle and entry is free with donations welcome on the door.

Last year’s event raised £1,200.
