Charity comp raises £540

More than 70 senior golfers took part in the annual Bob Johns Classic golf competition at Tydd St Giles Golf Club.
The event, which took place on August 8, was a for charity sponsored by John Leake in memory of his father in-law Bob Johns.
Leake thanked all for taking part and was pleased to announce that £540 had been raised for Cancer Research UK.
The competition format was a shotgun start with a fourball team event.
Leake stepped up after the event to present the prizes.
First, with 123 points, were Stephen Horton, Ian Millett, Toby North and Joe Connolly.
In second place, with 122 points, Gary Brown, Steve Skoulding, Mick Vassall and Paul Chaplain- Barton.
Nearest the pin (4th hole) was Tim Martin, nearest the pin (8th hole) was Dave Leake, nearest the pin (11th hole) was Lee Smith and nearest the pin (16th hole) was Trevor Hunt.
The two’s pot on the day came to £76 and was won by Steve Skoulding, Trevor Hunt and Tom Ainsley, all who very generously donated to the charity.

Division 2 – 1st Stuart Turnell 36 points, 2nd (ocb) Terry Pease 33 points, 3rd (ocb) Craig Garner 33 points. Division 3 – 1st Will Woodrow 40 points, 2nd Andy Bell 37 points, 3rd Terence Langdale 36 points.
