Charity cash for cancer

The senior section at Tydd St Giles golf club recently held a golf day in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

More than 50 seniors took part in a stableford competition, sponsored by Kenray, Matterhorn and the Quay Centre.
Main organiser Toby North provided a bumper raffle which included a golf bag worth more than £100, and a used golf equipment sale, which generated an additional £250.
He said: “Thanks go to Tony and his staff at the club for supporting this worthy event, and to Trevor and Delia Sewell for refreshments at the halfway hut which raised £160.
“Also special thanks to the green keepers for presenting the course in great shape, and to Roy Pesterfield and the committee for their continued support of the event.”
Competition results: 1st Garry Allen 43 points, 2nd Ken Walker 40 points, 3rd Joe Connolly 39 points, nearest the pins Dave Worrall (4th hole), Ken Doughty (8th hole, Graham Ralph (11th hole), Michael Flint (16th hole).
They will receive prize, with the main trophy to be presented at the club presentation day.
