Charity benefits from match

A charity football match held in Long Sutton proved so popular that it could become an annual fixture.
The town’s club hosted a game between Liverpool Fans and Rest of the World at the weekend.
“There are a lot of Liverpool fans around the club,” said club secretary Sean Gedney.
“Jeremy King had the idea to get them playing the rest of us,” he added.
The match, which ended in a 6-3 win for the reds, raised £500.
The money is being split between Long Sutton Primary School and the Firefighters Charity.
“The Liverpool fans managed to win – we will never hear the end of it!” laughed Sean.
The teams included former players for Long Sutton Athletic FC.
“We hope to do it next year,” said Sean.
