A move to reduce the amount of affordable housing on a site in York Gardens, Gosberton, has been denied.
Applicants D A and F N Casswell and F M Rozier also wanted to replace required open space on the site with a community orchard nearby, but that too was turned down.
South Holland District Council’s planning officers had recommended approval of the changes to conditions of planning permission previously granted for up to 80 homes on the site. But on May 31 the planning committee voted unanimously that the original conditions should be retained.
The applicants had wanted to reduce the amount of affordable housing to 25 per cent, as suggested within the emerging Local Plan, rather than complying with the current policy of one third of homes.
