Many bus services in South Holland have been curtailed – possibly stopping a potential new route from opening on April 6.
Last week an extended 57 service was advertised which would see the number 57 route operated by Stagecoach that has previously run from Skegness to Boston to extend from Spalding from April 6.
However on Monday Stagecoach announced changes to its timetable due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
On its website Stagecoach said: “We will temporarily be running a 7am-7pm service, Monday through to Saturday.
“There are a few exceptions so please check your area for details.”
Lincolnshire County Council said it was unsure as to when or if the 57 service would be extended to Spalding.
A spokesman for the authority said of the route which is part of its Inter Connect Network: “The service would stop at any bus stop between Springfields and the bus station, but we are still awaiting confirmation from Stagecoach that the extension is taking place and when.”
The Voice contacted Stagecoach but had not had a response at the time of going to press.
Lincolnshire County Council is currently advising people not to travel unless the journey is essential and to check with the bus companies for the latest time tables.
A spokesman said: “We advise you to check your timetable with operators before travelling. Please be aware that it will not always be possible to update online journey planners because of the ever changing situation
“Similarly, bus stop displays will not be updated with temporary/emergency timetables.”
