There’s a chance to learn an a skill thousands of years old at a special workshop in Spalding.
The Chain Bridge Forge is once again taking part in the National Saturday Club which will see it teach black smithing over a six month period.
The historic venue on High Street will host 15 sessions running up to June 2026.
The forge is looking to hear from people who want to take it up and short listed applicants will be invited to taster day to take place on Monday, December 22.
A Chain Bridge Forge spokesman said: “We offer a traditional perspective of blacksmithing.
“Each session is designed around a technique and results in the manufacture of an item.
“Key skills that will be taught include: bending, punching, drawing, upsetting, shrinking, hitting, quenching, cutting, shaping, tapering, flattening, dishing, twisting, welding, TIG, plasma cutting, working with steel and the hearth (fire to heat the metal, reaches 1,400 degrees Celsius).
“You will use specialist equipment including anvils, hammers, tongs, saws, grinders.
“Protective clothing will be provided and a full health and safety induction.”
