Champs Spalding Water Polo Club begin their title defence

Champions Spalding Water Polo Club started the defence of the title in the Hertfordshire League Division One with a win and a draw.

Their first match was at home against Hertford on Tuesday, June 5 and they had an excellent 16-4 win.

Goals from Gareth Lord (3), Ed Martin (3), Matt Papworth (3), Nathan Henfrey (2), Phil James (2), Ben Marsters (2), Tom Marsters (1).

Two days later Spalding travelled to Milton Keynes and came away with a hard fought draw against tricky opposition.

Goals from Ed Martin (2), and one apiece from Ben and Tom Marsters sealed a point in the 4-4 draw.

The Castle Sports Complex based club’s next game is a trip to Hatfield on Friday, June 29.
