Artwork in chalk has been created in Spalding town centre as part of an arts and heritage project.
Led by Liz Kelleher, head of art at Spalding High School, the event is the start of a chalk trail.
A new community arts and heritage project aims to celebrate and promote the town’s riverside.
Called Spalding Reconnected: Historic Town and Riverside, the project is being led by Transported Arts working with East Mercia Rivers Trust.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund, South Holland District Council and Lincolnshire County Council are among a group of organisations working to improve the town and riverside.
This week’s session was the first and will be followed with another planned for next Tuesday (July 18).
Anyone is welcome to go along to Riverside Double Street Green and anyone can take part. Under-18s need to be with a parent or guardian.
As part of the Spalding Reconnected: Historic Town and Riverside, Spalding’s new ARTeFACT Trail lauches this Saturday in the Market Place from 9am to 3pm.
There will also be a ‘Sketch Craw’ from 10am to 3pm, on Saturday, July 22 on the riverside near Double Street, a ‘Big Doodle’ with Emily Cartwright in Spalding Market Place from 9am to 3pm on Tuesday, July 25 and two sessions of ‘Stone Painting’ with Dovile Sakalauskaite from 9am to 3pm in Spalding Market on Saturday July 29 and on the riverside near Double Street on from 10am to 3pm on Tuesday, August 1.
