Ceremony for district council chair

The current chair of South Holland District Council, Jan Whitbourn, held her Civic Church Service on Sunday.

Fr Rob Parker-McGee led the afternoon service at St Mary’s and St Nicolas Church in Spalding.

Prayers were led by pastor Chas Sandhu, of The Lighthouse Church, while Spalding Town Board chair Robin Hancox gave a reading.

Others taking part included the 1406 (Spalding) Squadron of the RAF Air Cadets, Spalding Police Cadets, Boston Sea Cadets, 3rd Spalding Brownies and the Spalding Parish School Choir (pictured below).

Coun Whitbourn said: “It was beautiful and the new vicar was lovely.”
