Celebrating school’s success

Pupils and staff at Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School welcomed guests to help celebrate the award of a Quality Mark.

The school received the Inclusion Quality Mark to recognise its commitment to creating an environment where all pupils can realise their full potential.

County council member Natalie Oliver, member for children’s services, visited the school to see for herself. She was joined by Couns Paul Lock and Jane King (also vice chair of governors) along with Martin Smith, assistant director for children’s education.

“We were extremely proud to share our journey and to take time to showcase our school and for our visitors to meet our incredible children,” said a school spokesman.

“All our visitors were greatly impressed by the learning opportunities available, recognising and congratulating us upon the inclusive ethos of our school.”

Coun Jane King said the school makes ‘an outstanding contribution to our local community and I want to congratulate them on this well-deserved award. They really do give local children the best start in life.’

Coun Oliver added the visit had been ‘inspiring’ to see the care and commitment of staff.
