Celebrating Duke success

A relatively new school has celebrated its first students earning Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Tudor Lodge Therapeutic School in Little Lane, Whaplode, opened in 2024 for children who have an education, health and care plan.

Last week it celebrated three students earning their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards including Ryan Langham.

A spokesman for the school said: “We are incredibly proud of them and one student has completed his expedition and is well on his way to finishing the volunteering section.

“What an amazing achievement this is and a fantastic reward for all of their hard work and commitment.

“The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop confidence, resilience and independence, while learning valuable life skills through volunteering, physical activity, new experiences and adventure.

“The dedication shown by our students is something they should all be incredibly proud of.”
