Celebrating 800 years of Magna Carta

Children at Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall School learned about life in medieval England to celebrate 800 years of Magna Carta.

Dressed as 13th century peasants, the children started the day with an assembly learning about Magna Carta, the changes it brought and the relevance of it today, before enjoying archery sessions, quill pen writing, medieval dance and basic Latin. Children also designed their own illuminated letters, seals and Coats of Arms.

Headteacher Clare Ogden said: “It was a brilliant day and all the children and staff learnt a lot.”
