Carnival returns to Pinchbeck

A village will be a hive of activity again on Saturday as the Pinchbeck Carnival returns.

The event will take place in Rotten Row Playing Field and the committee is hoping for a big turnout.
The events actually start the previous evening (Friday) with the popular bingo night with Dave Mustoe at Pinchbeck Church Hall.
Doors open at 6.30pm for ‘eyes down’ at 7pm.
The following day it’s open for the carnival itself at noon and admission is free.
Carnival queen Bryony Sweeting will open the event which will be followed by a vintage car and tractor procession.
On Rotten Row there will be a host of stalls, attractions and games for all the family to enjoy.
There will be live entertainment on stage with a great band, the Sound Injectors and the RSB Band.
A spokesman for the organising committee said: “This event has grown so much over the years and it is good to see so many new volunteers who want to make it a success for the village community.
“If ever you were looking for a definition of a community event in South Lincolnshire, this is it.
“The carnival has always been well supported and many make a special journey to enjoy a varied day to see the entertainment and enjoy the crafts.
“The aim of the event is to try and help voluntary organisations in the village and to carry on with the Carnival next year.
“A bar will be there for visitors to sit and enjoy a pint whilst listening to the entertainment. So pack up your tables, chairs and picnic and be ready for the games and competitions, we want you all to come and enjoy a good day out.
“It’s a fantastic event and will be a lot of fun for all the family.”
