A Holbeach eight-year-old has had 14 inches cut off her hair and raised hundreds for charity in honour of her late grandma.
Leila Kay Hawley took on the big cut after raising £700 for the Little Princess Trust charity.
Her hair will also go to the charity to be made into a wig for a young person who has suffered hair loss due to medical issues or treatments.
The St John the Baptist school pupil did so as a tribute to her late grandmother Wanda Kay who lived in America.
The locks came off via mum Niki in a special event at the Royal Mail Cart pub in Spalding on Saturday.
There she was cheered on by her family including dad Geoff, brothers James and Callum, friends from school and the Act II Theatre Group she’s a member of and her Auntie Christina via a video link in America.
Leila said she was nervous beforehand but found it all “funny”.
She added: “It’s amazing, the best look I have ever had.”
Niki said: ” Our family in America is so proud of Leila and overwhelmed with everyone’s support here in England.
“A massive thank you goes to the Royal Mail Cart as they were a brilliant venue; so supportive and accommodating.”
