Chris Knowles from the company Zoolab brought in a host of exotic animals for the residents to hold and touch if they wished.

Alongside the aforementioned animals there were also scorpions, geckos and tarantulas for the residents to engage with.

It brought plenty of smiles to the residents, many of whom were happy to hold them.

Southernwood care home manager Bethany Ward said: “It’s the first time we’ve done anything like this.

“It’s just something different and you get a fantastic reaction from the residents to the animals.”
