Caravan site will be inquiry subject

A public planning inquiry is to take place in relation to an application for a caravan site meant for seasonal workers near Sutton Bridge.

Earlier this year Evolution Park Homes Ltd was refused a Lawful Use Certificate for some of the static caravans on Poppy Fields Caravan Park, off Fields Farm South.
That’s after South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee argued the applicant could not demonstrate it had met set planning conditions that some of the caravans on site were being used only by temporary overseas workers.
Officers claim all but three caravans of the 15 on site were being used for ‘year-round’ occupation.
The applicant was able to appeal to get Certificates for Lawful Use for the other three caravans.
The district council has sought enforcement action against the rest, something the applicant is again appealing.
Now a public planning inquiry on the issue is due to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17 and 18, from 10am each day, at South Holland District Council’s offices in Priory Road, Spalding.
An inspector appointed by the secretary of state will decide on the matter.
Related planning documents are available for the public to view by contacting the district council.
The inquiry is open to the public to, at the discretion of the inspector, express their views.
