Car stolen after Spalding house burglary

Police are warning residents to lock up after two burglaries in Spalding overnight.

During the early hours of Tuesday (November 4) two burglaries took place in London Road, Spalding.

Community Policing Inspector Jim Tyner said: “On both occasions the offender has simply walked in through an insecure door. It appears the intention has been to steal car keys in order to steal cars parked outside.”

A green BMW 530D touring estate, registration RY02FAA, was stolen from one property.

Insp Tyner added: “These are the first residential burglaries in Spalding since mid-September but they were both preventable by locking doors.

“Also, we all tend to leave car keys in an area close to the front door. This makes it easy for a thief to find them. Think about hiding car keys away.”

On  October 25 a Ford Galaxy was stolen after the keys were removed from an insecure house in West Pinchbeck.  That vehicle was later found abandoned in Langtoft.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is requested to contact Spalding CID on 101 quoting incident 30 of  November 4. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
