Can you help Spalding special school’s sponsored cycle ride?

The Friends of The Garth School (FOGS) are looking for the community to get involved with a sponsored bike ride to Skegness this summer.

The Spalding special school’s charity hopes to raise money for a new sensory room and equipment for its hydrotherapy pool.

FOGS wants to hear from:

  • people wanting to take part
  • first aiders
  • people to be marshals
  • businesses who can offer support financially or by supplying bottled water
  • anyone with a van to bring cycles back

Several parents of pupils at the school are likely to be joining some staff members taking part in the fundraiser on Sunday, July 10.
The plan for the 40-mile ride is to set off at 10am and finish at the seafront.

One of the parents said: “Hopefully we’ll get there before all the fish and chip shops close!”
“We’d like to get the community involved. We have to stick together as these facilities might not be available forever.”
