Call for video look at drainage

A councillor has called for video surveys of drainage to be carried out after concerns were raised about a road not draining.

Paul Doubleday had become fed up at the accumulation of water on Holland Road in Spalding recently.

“Highways have completely ignored our request to clear the drains which should be done on a regular basis,” he said. “One reply we had was that the drains were cleared in January 2024 so it’s two years ago?

“Why should pedestrians have to walk through this on a regular basis?”

He asked Coun Mark Le Sage who raised the issue with Lincolnshire County Council.

A spokesman for the authority said: “Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs.”

Coun Le Sage said: “I’ve asked for a video survey to be carried out.”
