Cafe refurb part of gardens work

A spruce up of the cafe at Ayscoughfee Hall is among the improvements to be made to its gardens.

South Holland District Council is spending £173,000 on improvements in the park

.The toilets will also be updated to ‘Changing Places’ standard.

A spokesman for South Holland District Council said: “As part of our ongoing programme of improvement works at Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens, the council has commissioned a programme of refurbishment to the café block, that will provide improvement works to the café, as well as a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing toilets and service areas, and the installation of a new, grant funded Changing Places facility.”

The Ayscoughfee Hall cafe is closed until May 24.

In a Facebook statement the cafe said: “We are very excited to announce that we’re getting a refurb.

“The works will be taking place over the course of the next three months and we’ll be getting a bigger restaurant, kitchen and we know you’ll all be so happy to hear – our own customer toilets!

“We are sorry for any inconvenience but we can’t wait to show you all to see the amazing improvements that are being made come summer.”

The Changing Place toilets will be more accessible than the standard facilities as they will also include an adult changing bench and hoist as well as extra space for carers.
