Busy Spalding road to close for three weeks for repair work

Halmergate in Spalding is to close for three weeks for repair work.

Repairs to the footpath and carriageway begin on Thursday, July 23 – the first day of the school summer holidays – and are scheduled to complete on Wednesday, August 12.

Drainage repairs are also planned for adjoining Low Road between Monday and Wednesday next week (July 20-22). Carriageway patching will take place at Low Road on Tuesday, July 28.

Lincolnshire County Council said: “All the works are essential to prevent any deterioration in the roads and have been scheduled to take place during school holidays to minimise disruption to the travelling public.”

The roads will be closed to through traffic and diversion routes will be in place.

The council says local bus companies have been informed and there will be minor changes to their service routes for the duration of the works.
