Bursaries of upto £1,000 available for South Holland young artists

Young artists in South Holland are being invited to apply for up to £1,000 in funding as part of a new bursary scheme.

The Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) group, which is a network of ten arts venues including the South Holland Centre in Spalding, has secured new funding from Arts Council England, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

This has enabled LOV to set up a bursary scheme for 2015/16, specifically aimed at helping young artists and arts entrepreneurs across the county.

Young people involved in performing or visual arts or entrepreneurs in the creative industries can apply for up to £1,000 to support their development.

Coun Gary Taylor, South Holland District Council’s portfolio holder for arts development, said: “This is a fantastic initiative and will no doubt help young local people who want to pursue careers in the arts.

“It also shows that LOV is having a growing impact on arts activities and opportunities in the county.”

Anyone interested in finding out more about the bursary scheme should contact Sally Harrison at the South Holland Centre on 01775 764777 or email [email protected].
